This is a comprehensive blend of a long exposure, to reduce the noise and to get rid of the tourist crowds, and a high ISO fast exposure to capture the boat, and the texture of the water.
Aurora lights at Acadia.
Aurora lights at Acadia. I have gotten lucky with the northern lights at Acadia National Park at the end of May. I feel like I traveled to another planet: Cadillac Mountain was floating above the clouds, with a bright aurora lighted star sky on top, a gigantic moon on one side, and the Milky Way on another; I could not help myself and pose for a self portrait. With this photo, I wanted you to feel what I felt while being there. As one can see, this is two exposures taken a few minutes apart: long exposure for the landscape and another one for the moon.
Mighty yaks
You won't bump into a bus full of tourists in northern Tian Shan. You most likely won't bump into anyone. Only mighty yaks wandering in a quiet beauty of endless mountain peaks.
